Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: As the leading website for Design jobs in the UK, Design Week is the best place to go to look for your next career opportunity. The magazine part was created at the end of the 80s, and later introduced a job board to the online version. The job section alone attracts 94 670 visits a month. On social media, there are 1 385 followers on Facebook, 7 931 followers on Twitter, 8 326 on Instagram and 24 699 on LinkedIn. The different social media is for the main website, but job offers can still be published there. The Design Week publisher is Centaur Media.

Design: As a Madgex job board, the design is very user-friendly. The search engine (keywords, location and radius) is featured at eye-level, over an image of small women and men shrugging. Below, there are two panels (disciplines and job functions) to choose a category and start your job search. The featured companies really are hiring, which is always good news. Articles and featured jobs can also be accessed directly from the homepage, as well as other services. In the job listing, the filters (location, contract type, hours, salary band, design discipline, job function, recruiter type) appear on the left-hand side (and include the number of job offers for each category if you are browsing). The salary, logo and publication/expiry date are visible for each offer in the listing. An open job offer has a standard layout, with useful information on the left-hand (which includes expiry dates). There is also a company listing, which displays the logo and number of current job offers. The page layouts are standardised, including a short description sometimes and a list of job offers.

The job board objective:  Design Week makes everything about design jobs, from interior to graphic.

Recruiter observations: Prices are online, and recruiters can order through the site almost effortlessly. There are many different types of job placements to choose from. If you would like something catered to your recruitment needs, you must contact the team. To create an account, you must indicate your postcode.

Jobseeker observations: It’s easy to create an account.

The job offers: There are currently 636 job offers online. The most popular discipline are architecture and interior.

Reactivity: The team answers very quickly (just like it does for the other Centaur Media job boards).

Special features: The career advice (with different sections); job alerts; testimonials; the articles (on the main page); the awards; the app.

Verdict: Like most Madgex job boards, Design Week jobs is a part of a larger group, which offers articles and insight to its users. This means it attracts through great content and then provides job offers. The layout is user-friendly and both recruiters and jobseekers can find relevant services (great job offers and different posting options).
