School Spring Presentation

Site's statement

By providing tools customized for the education market, SchoolSpring has transformed the way school districts hire teachers and administrators, making it easier and more cost-effective to staff classrooms and executive positions. SchoolSpring offers job seekers a one-stop solution for managing the job search, including complete archiving of all necessary documents and certifications, and access to the all education jobs in their selected regions.

Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: Created in 2001, School Spring is a specialist job board for teachers (both online and off) to find work. It is powered by PowerSchool Unified Talent, which helps hire teachers and professionals in education. There is a Twitter page with 1 306 followers (but no new posts since 2016) and no other social media. This hasn’t stop it from being successful: despite little branding and little marketing, as many as 938 920 visits are recorded on SimilarWeb every month and the numbers are rising.

Design: The website design is quite basic. You have an image relating to teaching (a hand writing on a black board with chalk) and a search engine (location, category, grade, job type). The rest of the site is addressed to jobseekers on one side and recruiters on the other. If you access the listing, you’ll see filters (keywords, location, job type, grade level, job category) on the left-hand side to refine your search. In the listing, the job offers only display the job title, the publication date, the location and the company name. Furthermore, all the job offers have a standard layout, which makes it easy to navigate the site and find the useful information, but it does mean there is no branding.

The job board objective: It’s simple: putting the educated professionals in touch with the institutions, which need them.

Recruiter observations: When you order credits online, it’s easy to create an account and to fill out the adverts. You can include a deadline and work eligibility (visa requirements).

Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers don’t need an account because there are instructions for the application process or a link to another site.

The job offers: There are 52 815 job offers on the site, and over 33 000 are featured (which means it probably won’t help gain visibility). Most of the jobs are for classroom teachers.

Verdict: There is one word to describe School Spring: basic. That isn’t a word we’re using negatively; the site is useful and it gets to the point. If you’re a teacher, check it out.
