Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: Created around 2006, Careesma.at, or Meinjob.at as it is now called, is just one of a number of job boards which was owned by Intercom World Wide. However, since 2016, the job board has come under new management. They list a couple of partners that contribute to the blog and to their services, but it’s difficult to know who exactly is running the website. On some social media they are still listed as Careesma and have not been updated for years (Twitter), and on others, the job board foundation is listed as 2016 (Linkedin). Only the Facebook page can be considered a proper social media profile, with 9 748 followers and updated information. According to Similarweb, the website only gets about 129 860 visits a month.

Design: The MeinJob.at layout looks nothing like the Careesma.at one. The dominant colour is blue with a “J” logo. Appealing images and a search engine in two parts, the homepage seems to provide all the information you need: jobs featured by location, companies with many job opportunities, blog articles, the companies offering the most jobs and the most popular job offers. There is even a list of all the different industries and the number of job offers per category. However, the filters only exist on the homepage (you can’t even view the job offers by the publication date if you access them from the categories). It’s refreshing to see truthful information about the number of job offers, the branding is adequate and the company pages (462 in total) allow users to discover what’s out there. The profiles include some benefits, videos, a company description, the current job offers, the number of employees and when the company was created. Once in the job listing, some jobs are “top jobs”, and the job title is featured with the company logo.

The job board objective: By patterning up with specialists in the CV building field or in psychology, MeinJob.at offers more than just job opportunities.

Recruiter observations: It’s very easy to create an account, even if you are supposed to provide a postcode and a company tax number (they do not check the number). On the company page, you can include when the company was created, the number of employees and your social media links. And if you need to write to the job board, different email addresses are provided depending on your request, including one for people looking for their first job.

Jobseeker observations: It’s very easy to create an account (even if you don’t need one for all the job offers) and you can download the CV you make on their website. They offer a sample cover letter (which you can edit) too.

The job offers: 9 092 jobs are currently on the website. Production and “other” are the most popular categories and the oldest job offers are from April, which means very old job offers appear alongside new ones (without being able to sort them by publication date sometimes).

Reactivity: --

Special features: The salary calculator; the CV builder; the CV design; the blog (no dates).

Verdict: Even if MeinJob.at is relatively easy to use, you can find better job boards in Austria, with better visibility and better filters.
