Jobonline.it Presentation

Site's statement

Jobonline is a web site dedicated to people who are already working, willing to improve their status by looking for new job and training opportunities.

Jobonline is the most experienced and wise partner in the on-line recruitment, being established in 1996 as the first recuiting web portal in Italy. Jobonline delivers a high service level, being flexible and reactive to the emerging needs of customers, through an account structure dedicated to each customer.

Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: Created in 1996, JobOnline is a generalist Italian job board, which belongs to MediaLabor Srl. It has definitely lost a number of its followers in recent times. Since October, the visitor numbers have dropped drastically to about 2 040 visitors a month. Despite that, the site is still active on social media for its 264 followers on Twitter, 5 206 on Facebook and 456 on LinkedIn. The current CEO (who has been in the company since it was created) is Nicola Cernigoi.

Design: The pale colours and slightly outdated layout leave no doubt about this job board being one of the older ones. It still works well, but the design has not adapted to the times, like some of the other 20 something job boards. Regardless, you can access the important information from the homepage, including the blog, the job offers and company pages. The only filters are the search engine ones (category, location, career level, keywords). In the job listing, icons provide additional information about the offers (like the employment type, the employer type or the duration of the employment) but there are no logos or publication dates. Each job offers has the useful information above the job description. The site also provides contact information for the companies. On the homepage, only one of the four featured companies is currently hiring and the site plan just changes the footer.

The job board objective: JobOnline appeared on the scene when Italy really needed online job search services. Since then, the site has continued to provide access to jobs online.

Recruiter observations: To create a recruiter account, you must contact the team.

Jobseeker observations: In theory, it’s easy to create an account and apply to job offers. JobOnline asks whether you have done a military service and whether you have a licence. You must also provide your citizenship and gender. If you have trouble with the first page, start again and try once more before giving up. Some job offers redirect you to the company site so you don’t need an account  for those ones.

The job offers: There are 2 521 job offers on the site at the moment. Most of them are in production and maintenance roles (over 1 000). The next top categories are secretarial jobs and engineering positions.

Reactivity: The team takes a couple of days to answer.

Special features: The icons; the newsletter; the articles; events; training; the partner websites.

Verdict: If you’re looking for a job, you can use JobOnline since it is active on social media, so at least you know the job offers have been posted recently However, the process is a bit more complicated for recruiters, who might struggle to set up an account.
