Site's statement

The AFJV ("Agence Française pour le Jeu Vidéo" or "French agency for video games") aims at facilitating employment and entrepreneurship amongst the french community of developers, producers, publishers or retailers, and at promoting its innovations and technical, artistic and intellectual creations.

Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: AFJV is a specialist French job board for anyone working in the video game field. It provides news on the video game industry and all related jobs. In fact, the jobs seem to be what interest its visitors the most: he employment page alone attracts 201 340 visitors a month, and the site in general attracts 323 300, so most of the people come for the job offers. On social media, Twitter is a list of jobs for the 14 500 followers and there is also a Facebook account (92 000 followers). The site is available in English, French and Spanish.

Design: From the main homepage, simply click on jobs and internships to access the job listing. Some of the things you can click on at the top of the page don’t work. The listing appears in a grid (but you can change that to a proper list), with large logos, publication dates, job titles and company names for each job offer. The filters (contract, job, region, company) remain at the top of the page.

The job board objective: AFJV (which stands for Agence française pour le jeu video – French agency, for video games) focuses on connecting web designers with those who need them.

Recruiter observations: To create an add, you don’t need an account. You simply order online and receive an invoice. To create an account, you must go through the team.

Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers don’t need an account to apply to offers. They can simply send in a form with a CV, some experience and a cover letter.

The job offers: The oldest job offers are from February. There 420 offers, most of which are for programming and artistic jobs. Some are even international.

Reactivity: --

Special features: The videos and reports; the photos; the news; the forum; the calendar of events; the number of total readers and the readers for the day; the employment reports.

Verdict: If you want to work in video games, then you have to check out AFJV. It has opportunities for all types of different professions in the field. Recruiters wanting to attract the most “in-the-know” candidates should advertise here.
