Meteojob Presentation

Site's statement

Meteojob is the first recruitment matching site in France, and the 5th jobboard in traffic.

Meteojob is a generalist jobboard publishing more than 30,000 job offers available within the whole french territory. More than a jobboard, Meteojob provides a full web application to publish offers, match them with profiles using our exclusive matching algorithms and process applications easily and effectively. Our candidates comes from the whole french territory and use our application to automatically find job offers matching their profile, instead of using keyword and multi-criteria search.

Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: Created in 2007, there are a number of co-founders behind the nationalist job board Meteojob, which recently joined forces with Visiotalent to create CleverConnect. There is Gonzague Lefebvre, Louis Coulon, Philippe Deljurie and Marko Vujasinovic, who is also the current CEO. Surprisingly, despite not being one of the biggest job boards in France, it is among the most popular, according to various sources. It attracts as many as 1.71 million views a month and others follow the activity on Twitter (5 990 followers), on Facebook (18 433) and on Linkedin in (3 754). You can even watch a handful of their videos on Youtube.

Design: The homepage has a simple design: a search engine to help find work (keywords, the location and the type of contact), different lists (the domain, the city or the job title), featured employers (most of which are indeed hiring) and if all else fails, you can jump right into the job alerts. It’s nice to know they also have an app, for those of us that prefer to look for work on the go. To use the search engine, you need a keyword or a location though, so you have to have an idea of what you’re looking for. The filters (the location, the type of contract, the sector, the company, the job title, the publication date) appear on the left-hand side with the numbers per category in brackets. The same information is clearly indicated in the job listing. Even if there are logos, the branding for the job offers stops there. Luckily, recruiters with more to offer can invest in an attractive company page, which can include a banner image, a brief description, the job offers (on a map) and the benefits. Companies can also include videos. To look through the job offers, more easily, you also have handy next and previous buttons.

The job board objective: Meteojob prides itself on matching jobseekers and recruiters.

Recruiter observations: To create an account, recruiters have to contact the team.

Jobseeker observations: When creating an account, jobseekers need to provide a job title, a location and a type of contract. You also must provide your last job title and your desired salary. Luckily, there is a resume parser, so you don’t have to transfer all the information from your CV to the website and once you have an account, job offers also have a compatibility rating based on your CV.

The job offers: There are 129 518 job offers, according to the website. Since you can’t use the search engine without a keyword, it’s difficult to know which industries have the most offers.

Reactivity: It took the team about a day to answer us.

Special features: The app; Meteojob matching; the job sheets (which include the current job offers for the given job); the blog; the courses; job alerts; Youtube videos; the compatibility rating; next/previous buttons.

Verdict: Meteojob is surprisingly easy to navigate. Since recruiters need to contact the team in order to create an account, the time it takes depends on how long they take to answer. Regardless, the design is still convenient for both recruiters and jobseekers.
