Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary:  AliadoLaboral (which means “labour ally”) was created by LEGIS (the Economics and Legislation Journal), but we aren’t sure when because there is no “About Us” section. LEGIS has been around since 1952, but their website seems to be almost as abandoned as the AliadoLaboral one. It still receives about 96 940 visits a month, but that’s very little for Colombia. They have no social media and the website is in dire need of a make-over. So, what happened? Considering AliadoLaboral used to be popular, we believe the website was auctioned off.

Design: The dominant colours are light green and white, with relatively small font everywhere. On the homepage, users can access job offers which are already listed or use the search engine (keywords and location) to find something more specific. Once in the job listing, the filters (the industry, the location, the salary, the type of contract, the company and the sector of the company) make it easier to sort through the offers, but there is very little information in them about the company (most are listed as “confidential”) or the job requirements. The job offers include a short description, the salary, the number of available positions and the type of contract.

The job board objective: Well, from what we read on LEGIS, the idea would be to offer legal information to jobseekers to help them make more responsible decisions, but AliadoLaboral seems to have fallen short of its goal.

Recruiter observations: To create an account, you need an NIT number. However, you don’t need to disclose any information about your company if you don’t want to. The branding is non-existent.

Jobseeker observations: It’s not that difficult to create an account, but then, you actually need to access it, which we just weren’t able to do. You are supposed to give a number (a passport number for example) so that you can be identified (but you can literally write anything).

The job offers: There are 1 124 job offers and, according to the website, they are no more than 2 weeks old. 80 of them are in sales.

Reactivity: --

Special features: the salary survey (which you can’t actually access); the articles (which don’t always include the dates, but you can find the dates by reading the articles and they are years old); the videos (also years old); the yearly planner (that doesn’t work); the salary calculator (that doesn’t work); the law related articles.

Verdict: Most of the job offers have from “unidentified” companies, the website is not https:// safe, the content is lacking, the visibility is low, etc. We hardly need to say it: AliadoLaboral has come and gone. We don’t recommend using it.
