CareerBeacon Presentation

Site's statement

Created as an online tool to help professional recruiters find new talent for Canadian employers, CareerBeacon.com is an excellent communication tool that delivers the best options for job seekers.

Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: Since 1994, CareerBeacon has been providing Candidans with access to job offers and career advice, in both French and English. The site is powered by Alongside and the “About Us” section is relatively brief. On social media, there are 4 445 followers on Facebook, 801 on Twitter and 1 082 on LinkedIn. The site attracts 339 110 visits a month.

Design: On the homepage, there is a large backdrop of a dominantly blue and yellow colour and a search engine (keywords and location). In the job listing, the filters (location, publication date, category, company) remain under the search engine. Only the company filter has the number of offers per category. Logos are visible in the job listing, but there are no publication dates. The offers can be sorted by date or relevance. If you open an offer, the layout is standard, however, the company pages (in alphabetical order) have great branding, adapted to the company image.

The job board objective: CareerBeacon makes it easy to find employment.

Recruiter observations: To order ad space, you must contact the team.

Jobseeker observations: Jobseekers can create an account with a Facebook, LinkedIn account or an -mail address.

The job offers: There are currently 5 599 job offers online. Healthcare, IT, Management and Operations, Skilled Trade, Financial Services and Other are the most popular sectors.

Reactivity: The team answers within a day.

Special features: The interview tips; resume and cover letters; recruiting advice; the French career advice; the career advice; the feedback options.

Verdict: CareerBeacon has great branding for companies, which would like to promote their company image. As for jobseekers, you can find jobs in all kinds of categories, so it never hurts to browse.
