Freshersworld Presentation

Site's statement

Freshersworld.com is the No.1 Jobsite for Freshers in India with more than 3500+ top companies hiring.

We aim to become India's leading career and education portal and are constantly launching new products to cater to the needs of students, employers, campus placement coordinators and other players in the ecosystem.
We are proud of our achievements and excited about the future. However, some things that will not change are "our commitment towards freshers and belief in endless possibilities".

Jobboard Finder’s opinion

Summary: Created in 2006 by Joby Joseph, an Indian entrepreneur passionate about finding work for graduates, FreshersWorld is a specialist job board for graduates and students in India. In 2017, TeamLease started to purchase shares in the website, which now belong to the recruitment company. It’s a good investment when you consider that FreshersWorld attracts a steady 5 million visits a month. Unfortunately, the social media activity and blog articles have been dropping since mid-last year. There are no new updates on Twitter since June (for 12 500 followers), no new videos on Youtube (for 5 376 followers) and no new articles on the blog. On Linkedin, there are 30 164 followers and another 841 348 on Facebook. Maybe this is all part of a larger strategy. Only time will tell.

Design: The website design is surprising old-fashioned for such a successful job board. At the top of the page, you have the search engine (keywords, the course and the location) and the rest of the page is mostly full of lists: the latest jobs, the jobs by role, the jobs today, the government jobs, the placement papers, the jobs by company, engineering jobs, sarkari (official) results and career advice (which is not just career advice). Furthermore, the hiring companies aren’t all hiring (you can’t click on the ones that aren’t really hiring). Whether you’re on the homepage or somewhere else, pop-ups clutter up the screen, and there are no filters. You can sort the offers by popularity or newness. There are no logos, but the useful information appears in the listing (including the expiry dates).

The job board objective: FreshersWorld has made it their mission to help graduates find work and recruiters find new talent.

Recruiter observations: Recruiters can post an offer and create an account at the same time. When filling out the form, it’s possible to include the minimum mark on exams and the targeted gender. You must include the salary but you can hide it (minimum salary: 2 000 Rs a month, 150 Rs a day and 20 Rs an hour) and you select your hiring process (face-to-face, group discussion, etc.) An Indian number is required and the site suggests downloading profiles once you’ve posted.

Jobseeker observations: There is a lot of required information, including your gender, age, your “passout year” (which does not refer to when you passed out the most) and your marks on your exams.

The job offers: The most popular categories are diploma jobs, analytics jobs and logistics/transport jobs. There are 9 575 active job offers.

Reactivity: --

Special features: The blog (no articles since June 2018); the studying abroad info; the campus fest event; the books (you can buy online); PowerResume (which you have to purchase); the CEAT test (for premium members); the lesson in the English dialect (from reading the website content).

Verdict: In the words of FresherWorld, it is one of the “best popular job sites”. It is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for work in India.
